Strange, a bit esoteric, but all the better for both those things. Adventurous and progressive, this is creative arrangements at its finest.
Favorite track: Pierced Flesh Catharsis.
Metallurgical Fire
They may be incomparable. However, if you liked Korgonthurus’s Jumalhaaska, and mixing it together with Sumac sounds good, you’ll like this band.
BTW: Ippo is absolutely right, the FFO is just not accurate, but they were trying.
Urso X
My favourite Hypaethral release by a country mile. The other reviews give a good sense of what to expect (Fallenin’s comes closest to my own take) but what it all boils down to is this is **really** good music. Like aficionado-level good. Yoma nailed the best adjective: immersive. This record pulls you into its world and takes you on a magnificent journey. Absolutely spellbinding!
PS — Sounds nothing like Dream Unending, but similar feels for me.
Favorite track: The Eulogy Fields.

Twisted and decrepit, we struggle through the fields
Dawn an ocean in our footsteps, we chase away the light
A clangor of bells herds us in droves toward the gallery
To disperse with weary hands this landscape of bone
Our turmoil scorches out the seasons in a militant burn
The feral dawn stoked high and wild in the hell we made
Those of us who remain yearn for a sense of home
In this forlorn abatement, silhouettes call my name
Burden grips within; the jaws that cripple serenity
Encased in a house of glass, I am depleted by the sun
I feel safe in my prison, arms open in rejoice
Fingers of light grazing luminous walls, embers settle in my blood
The wind dances across these lonely leaves like a flock of nervous birds
Heavy limbs carry the hangman, eyes wide and daunting in his sorrow
The skyline is beautifully on fire, and we marvel at its gruesome, twisting light
Reaching out into the firmament, as if to stop the stars from falling
As a figure of shadow, I pass through the wake of life and death
Dressing wounds weathered by years of affliction
The beacon of my viscera incinerates the truth of all form
A heaviest of hearts, and a fading radiance bleeds into the night
Synapses crack like whips in the endless dark
A wild lightning born in the fire of the eye
We bind shadows to our eyes so we might cloak our gaze
Rivers of vermillion ash are wept into the broken hourglass
I'm suspended in the doorway; the veil has been severed and senses wither in the cradle of unbeing
Crystallized in willful possession
The void burns my skin and digs deep into my bones
A knife in the wind to pierce my body and cleanse my soul
Bathed in the astral lake, I soar with radiant wings
Defiant in the husk of flesh
In this night we open our hearts to the wind and spill our wounds into the sky
In the silence of a darkened drapery, their bodies are radiant
Memories rekindled in a hearth somewhere between waking and dreaming guide them on a lonely pilgrimage
Frail nomads of that distant shore
In pastures that stretch beyond death and resilience I hear them singing
Their voices not unlike the tide
An undertow unbroken and a heart aching for the marrow of the sun
Emblazoned lifelessness and holy decay
Their sullen bones reach for the skin of twilight
Where neither gods nor man walk in faithless dominion
In the years following our struggle your apparition grips me by the soul and refuses to let go
Like ships that pass in the night your course is shared
A silhouette walks the gilded tightrope through constellations until the death of every star
A great wind choking out the flame of a million candles in the sky
Lanterns growing dim, I will scream your vengeance.
Nothing is forgiven in this place
Rage sweeps it's dunes over the frontier, obscuring all purpose
Orphaned by grief and waned by passing years
Sifting the dust of desire with phantom limbs
Scaling the crumbled fortresses of pride
Shallow depths, a sallow unblinking eye
Vanity our keeper, I despair and writhe
A pained exultation
A beacon
A toll
Desperate ode to filth, beckon this child of God
Gather your moths in forms opaque and absolute
Devour this false dawn
Whisper with your venomous lips and voice of scorched earth
Manifest that imposter into flesh and tear into a realm just beyond the gaze of the mirror
The infernal gateway
Woe to the culling flood
Abide the cataract and it's furious grace, and spill from windows of the skull
Forthright is that river that gave birth to me
It's perfect silence dissolved into every shred of my being
In fervent stillness a darker garden blooms
Come forth, and drag me into wretched bliss
With potency you lit a fire in my lungs, so that every breath would be a reminder of what led me here
What dismal beauty in this ever growing wilderness
Stone angels stand sentry as the reaper leads the masquerade
Dispirited fawn in their feigned joy, moving to the bitter clock of impermanence
Matter is desperately clinging to emptiness as the ashen pendulum falls.
about
Worship is ever beyond the divine. Worship takes hold in ideals, and in idolatry. We worship progress. We worship the myth of a venerable past. We worship power. It is insidious when that which is revered becomes incapable of wrongdoing. Everything is justified in the eyes of worship and that rotten seed can lead to the worst of human atrocities.
"Incendiary Sanctum" is a eulogy burning away the very idea of worship. It is a longing for an insurmountable world beyond flesh. It is a rumination on humanity and those we've lost, and all those who came and went before we were ever here and are gone without a trace. The passing in and out of time, with many of us left behind or unceremoniously taken away. It is our strength in holding onto that memory, which is all there is and someday will be gone too. It's the inner sanctum of the self as a pyre, and the infinite silence of God.
A Flock Named Murder crafts an expansive and immersive sound—merging elements of black metal, post-metal, doom, and death metal into a seamless whole.

"...an ambitious and often captivating album that's eaten me alive for weeks, and I am excited to see where this band goes. Among the year's best. 4.5/5" - The Metal Crypt
“A FLOCK NAMED MURDER could have rested on the promise of their debut. Instead, they’ve crafted something far greater: a work of staggering ambition and execution. I urge you, don’t sleep on Incendiary Sanctum. This album is not one to be trifled with and is shaping up to be one of 2025’s best metal albums.” – Amped Magazine UK
“…a rewarding, absorbing, and enjoyable album. It’s vast and adventurous, with a substantive depth that demands repeat visits to its intriguing shores. However, it’s also dripping in the instant appeal that comes with powerful presence and intense emotion. A Flock Named Murder are adept at their art, producing an album that ensnares easily, but once caught, you won’t want to escape from their embrace.” – Wonderbox Metal
“…one of the most innovative, most important and landmark albums from the Extreme Metal scene in the years to come.” – Outlaws of The Sun
“a standout performance that’s sure to go down as one of the finest works that 2025 has to offer when the year eventually comes to a close. Much was dared in the crafting of Incendiary Sanctum, and so much was achieved in glorious fashion.” – Headbanger Reviews
“The songs get longer and longer as the album goes on, setting up a challenging sonic gauntlet. The group handles this atmospheric black metal with a meticulous touch, which is important for an album densely packed with content.” – Heavy Music HQ
“There is a lightness to it that’s hard to describe. The record is in no way short on rawness, energy, or pure black metal, but it remains elegant all the way through. The beginning feels like an invocation. The ending is a mournful farewell. Everything in between is, at the same time, fast and dynamic — and tender, like a young animal.” – Metal Eclipse Reviews

I'm very late to the party because - usually - dissodeath isn't my thing... However with Ulcerate and Panzerfaust I got closer... This is some serious opus, and I am glad that TOR is offering this for NYP... much appreciated as always!! sashavonkarl74

Never say Never, as they say, maybe just "later"... that's what happened to me with Vorga. Seen them live, was not in the right mood maybe, but the new release "Beyond the Palest Star" convinced me to give this album a try too, and I was happy I did. Vorga play very good, fine melodic Black Metal !! sashavonkarl74

Infinite Mortality has a real nice, buffed layer of filth to it. It's so perfect and so "bleh!" at the same time. No one wouldn't think to love it. It chugs perfectly but at any point might break out into some real sick death metal riffing. It riffs mightily but at any point those might devolve into a beautiful chug fest, and whether you like it or not you'll be brought right along with it into the dirt-perfect beauty. So Replicant seem to have something nice here, something nice for everyone. rvss.eel
More bleak, enveloping atmospheric black metal from the masters at the Vendetta label, “aevum” is both harrowing & strangely beautiful. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 30, 2019
