Sustainable Development in Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 (INSDAM 2025)

Multiple participating journals

Amid global challenges like climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation, the conference serves as a platform for researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to share innovative solutions promoting sustainability across sectors. The collection cover diverse topics, emphasizing the pivotal role of advanced materials in sustainability. Biodegradable materials, nanomaterials, and smart materials are extensively explored for their potential to replace traditional materials and reduce environmental impacts. Papers present cutting-edge research and real-world case studies demonstrating practical applications. A significant focus lies on Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IoT, AI, and big data analytics, and their transformative impact on manufacturing processes. These technologies optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and minimize waste, supporting the transition to a circular economy. Discussions also highlight how digitalization and automation enable sustainable practices and bolster manufacturing resilience. The Collection also address challenges in implementing sustainable manufacturing practices, including economic constraints, regulatory requirements, and technological limitations. Insights on overcoming these barriers emphasize the importance of collaborative frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and education in advancing sustainability. This collection serves as a vital resource for understanding the intersection of materials science, manufacturing innovation, and digital technologies, offering pathways toward achieving sustainable development goals.
