Challenges and Applications of Modern AI and Machine Learning Systems

This Special Issue will explore the ultimate cutting-edge advancements and practical implementations of AI technologies, with a focus on Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and the critical need for explainability in AI systems. Contributions are invited to address the transformative impact of GenAI and LLMs across industries, ethical considerations, and the development of interpretable and transparent AI models. This special issue aims to highlight innovative research, real-world applications, and solutions to the challenges of deploying modern AI systems responsibly and effectively.

  • Javier Fumanal-Idocin

    Javier Fumanal-Idocin received the B.Sc. degree in computer science from the University of Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain, in 2017 and the M.Sc. degree in data science and computer engineering from the University of Granada, Granada, Spain, in 2018 and his PhD from the Public University of Navarre in Computer Science. He currently holds a Yufe4Postdoc fellowship under a Marie Curie Cofund action in the University of Essex. His research interests include explainable AI, fuzzy logic, social networks, and classification and clustering in tabular data.
