Removed Comment Its not open source and it does need a rescan on new additions (doesn't take that long and can be done in the background) but Musicolet is fantastic. Possibly the best app I've ever used on a phone. by cdzero@lemmy.ml

Removed Comment > it doesn’t need to be free or completely open source, just no subscription. If not open source is ok, I highly recommend [Windy](https://www.windy.com/), it's one of the few closed-source apps/websites I really like. They offer a subscription, but it's totally not needed for most functionality. by Zarlin@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Removed Post [App]Found an open-source alternative to replace Google Photos — and it even offers unlimited storage!
reason: lemmy.ml rule 4, and /c/opensource rule 2 - this app does appear to be open source but telegram's infra is not, and relying on telegram continuing to provide what the project's own readme calls "insane free cloud storage" is obviously a bad idea.

Removed Post The best cracked Minecraft launcher I know of, hope you are already aware. Have fun in any case!
reason: offtopic. (1) "The version of the launcher you download from our website is slightly different from the source code", (2) there also doesn't even appear to be any source code on the website actually, and (3) a launcher for proprietary software would be offtopic in /c/opensource even if the first two problems were solved.

Removed Post Signal Protocol in Rust for Frontend Javascript
reason: offtopic in /c/opensource. (1) you said in another post about this same repo "I am using AI to do this so its important to be clear that im not asking you to audit or review my vibecoded project. While i have made attempts to create things like audits and formal-proof verication, i know better than to trust AI when it tells me its working correctly. Sharing it now if there is feedback about the implementation. Anything i may be over looking?" wtfbbq, did you write this self-contradictory text with an LLM too i guess? (2) outputs from a plagiarism machine are inherently incompatible with open source, and also not good to rely on for privacy.

Removed Post Openclaw security kit (turnkey solution)

Removed Comment At this point they could be separated file by file into the repo no doubt. I did it for development ease and to make sure everything was interacting properly together for each iteration. To implement one feature you need to touch many parts of the program. html, css, python app, SQLite database logic. Having it all as a giant monolithic program greatly improves a LLMs ability to see every part for context. Having a bunch of separate files is not great for the context window. by hereforawhile@lemmy.ml

Removed Comment I didn't say the keyboard was open source, though I do think I assumed the swipe library would be.
