Removed Comment Police have tasered a dog after it attacked a woman on a south-west Sydney street. Emergency crews rushed to Warburton Street in Condell Park this afternoon, where a woman in her 30s was being attacked by a dog. Dramatic footage from the scene shows police and bystanders trying to bring the dog under control in front of a home, before an officer tasered the animal. It's understood the woman was visiting the home where the male American Staffordshire Terrier lived. Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before taking her to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition. by Bluetreefrog@lemmy.world

Removed Comment The teenager was charged with blackmail, threatening to record or distribute an intimate image, and using a carriage service for child abuse material. He was released on bail. The 17-year-old boy was arrested for a second time on November 22 from a home in Gwynneville following further investigations by NSW Police. He was charged with further offences. Detective Superintendent Matthew Craft, Commander of State Crime Command's Cybercrime Squad, says that Sextortion has become an increasing issue in Australia. "Sextortion is where offenders target predominantly teenage boys online and request sexual images, before threatening to share them publicly unless the victim pay up," Craft said. "While it's a scary and sometimes embarrassing predicament to find yourself in, we want victims to know there are options available to them and police have powers to take action against alleged offenders." "Anyone can become a target of sextortion, and it is never the victim's fault. "But there are steps everyone can take, for example not sending any images to anyone online that you wouldn't proudly display on a public notice board yourself." The teen was granted conditional bail and will appear in court today. by Bluetreefrog@lemmy.world

Removed Comment He said he would have rated the intensity of the session as six or seven out of 10. "We wanted to make sure it wasn't too arduous. We don't want to place the players in a position where they can become injured." Mr Hasler told the inquest there was an inherent tension between players wanting to push themselves and impress coaches, and coaches wanting to restrain them to avoid injury. Hasler doesn't know if he could change training session Counsel assisting coroner Adam Casselden asked Mr Hasler if he would do anything differently in hindsight. "If I'd have known that such a tragic thing was going to happen, would I have changed parts of the training session? Probably," Mr Hasler responded. "I don't know if there would be parts there that I could change." The council assisting also highlighted an email from a former club medical officer, Luke Inman, to the ex-head of sports science, Mark Booth, warning about heat monitoring at training in 2019. "You are leaving yourself open to litigation from a player if they suffer heat stress or at worst, dies," the email warned. Earlier in the day, the inquest heard from former Sea Eagles Club medical officer Nathan Gibbs. He recommended the NRL mandate a staggered approach to pre-season training to reduce the risk of exertional heat stroke. The inquest will continue next week. by Bluetreefrog@lemmy.world
