Removed Comment First off. This isn't monopolistic at all. Cap one is 4th largest but there are a ton of issuers, banks, etc. I would attempt to explain the economics and financial benefits and logistics behind this but I don't think you could handle it. As of 2021, the combined cap one and discover would have about 20% of the market for that industry.
