1 year ago	mod	Removed Comment serious sports discussion here, so please leave any politics or phobias at the door. i could not care less about how people identify and what they do in their time. but how are you going to create a level playing field in sports? this guy did it to show the gaping loopholes, which trans and self identification provided back then: https://nypost.com/2023/03/30/male-powerlifter-enters-womens-event-breaks-record/ (no idea what the rules are today). and yes, you could probably filter out the guys, which identified male 5 mins before the contest. but this is an issue with any sports, not only pure strength. i was couching floorball for a while. when we did not get enough ppl for trainings, the womens and mens club would train together. while the women where better (technique and higher league) playing a match women against men, would almost never end up with the women winning. floorball is considered contactless. but the strength difference would still create a big gap. one proposed solution was to separate sports into high or low testosterone instead of male or female. i would be afraid of that just devolving into another doping war in the higher leagues. how do you guys think about sending woman with abnormally high testosterone to a mostly male team and vice versa? me personally would not mind, but the additional logistics could prove difficult for hobby or semi-professional organisations. by ToxicWaste@lemm.ee reason: transphobia

2 years ago	mod	Removed Comment This comparison is stupid, there's a big difference between someone AMAB explicitly identifying as a woman, and a cissie who wants to be a woman but not stop being a man because "being trans is so hip and cool rn" bigender has more in common with those stupid neogenders where people call themselves dollself, demonself, dragonself, and some other bullshit made up pronouns that aren't real words, nor real genders. They are NOT real trans people, they are posers who want attention and special treatment without realizing how difficult and painful it is to really actually be trans.
