2 years ago	mod	Removed Comment You can play the blame game all you want, but what's going to help anyone today? I am not personally responsible for what people did decades before I was born. I don't have anywhere else to go. Why -- and where -- should I evacuate? The same applies to palestinians of course. Those of them who do not participate in terror attacks - which is most of them - are not personally responsible for antagonizing Israel. They shouldn't have to evacuate their own homes, or to live under a hostile (to them) rule. That's why the two state solution is the only good viable option. Personally, as an atheist, I'd be perfectly happy with a single state that belongs to everyone, represents everyone, and treats everyone equally. But that's not an option (even if it was set up somehow it wouldn't last), and many people from both sides would vehemently object to this for plenty of good reasons. Two states living peacefully side by side is the only future that isn't a genocide. I'm well aware that Israel is not even a little bit headed in that direction right now. :( Edit: I'm checking out of this thread because too many replies ignore key parts of what I said, calling me names with no basis. You bemoan American intervention yet that intervention keeps energy prices stable saving millions of lives getting food dependant on that. You curse America even though it keeps murdering dictators at bay. America has used its power and navy to keep the seas open and trade flowing. You talk about the third world while you sit around a coal fire under provided by the trade America' protects. Is America perfect? Absolutely not. But it can be much, much worse. If not America, then who? Look how China has been behaving in Africa. Russia seems very reasonable and understanding. America helped end colonialism. Also, thank goodness for America eradicating disease around the world. America led the way eradicating aids, guinea worm, polio, small pox, measles, and TB. If you're going to lob criticism, you need to acknowledge the whole. Global population says American efforts have been a resounding success.
