Penny the Pumpkin: Directors Cut takes you on a delightful platforming open-world metroidvania with light puzzles to solve. Guide Penny, our lovable pumpkin, as she collects 18 precious coins! Your progress is saved every time she grabs a coin or enters a new area.
Once you've collected all 18 coins, put your skills to the test by unlocking the thrilling speedrun mode! Note that saving is disabled in this mode, so it's all about your skill and reflexes. Can you beat the programmer's current record of 3:31.4? 🏆

RetroTechFun stumbled upon this game when playing some Pico8 titles, and humiliatingly triggered a soft-lock. I’ve fixed the softlock, introduced softlock detection (dying twice within 0.1 second will now cause you to warp back to the start – consider this a valid speedrun tech if you can get it to work!)
I’ve also removed some spikes on the second screen because they are a holdover from an early vision, and is not appropriate for the direction the game ended up taking.
Very cool tricky little platformer. Definitely has the feel of a mechanical metroidvania. It was super interesting to see how I sped through some sections on a second playthrough without any new tools.
