TarotWeaver, a Tarot TTRPG
A downloadable Tarot-based TTRPG
TarotWeaver is a whimsical tabletop roleplaying game inspired by the enchanting vibes of Over the Garden Wall and Adventure Time. TarotWeaver encourages storytelling above all, allowing for a lightweight, narrative-focused experience where players weave magical and heartfelt tales in a world filled with wonder. With simple mechanics and an emphasis on creativity, TarotWeaver invites players of all backgrounds to step into a world where imagination takes center stage, and every new card flip could lead to a new adventure.
TarotWeaver is a classless game, allowing players the freedom to create and envision the characters they want to play. TarotWeaver's game system features:
- comprehensive background generator.
- flexible spell system that allows for creative problem solving.
- 78 unique abilities.
- Rules-lite "draw under" system.
- Guidance on creating adventures using tarot cards.
- Two adventures with explanations on how they were designed.
- Random tables with 234 entries.
- Bestiary with 32 monsters.
- Optional rules for non-human characters (faefolk, rootfolk, greenfolk, gnomefolk, and wildfolk).
Taking inspiration from games like Whitehack, His Majesty the Worm, Cairn, Into the Odd, and Dungeon World, TarotWeaver uses a simple “draw under” system that allows for quick, easy, and engaging gameplay.

Is it possible to release a version in pages as opposed to spreads?
Sure thing! Give me a couple days and I’ll upload a pages version.
awesome thanks!
Uploaded. I also hyperlinked the Table of Contents. Need to go through and link the other page references, but for now it seems pretty good.
It's broken heh. Just tried downloading it and it's a 0 page blank pdf.
What a bizarre glitch. Even shows as a "0mb" file.
Re-uploaded.
Hi! I noticed some repetitions in the Major Arcana Table (the one with the meanings of the cards along with ideas of people, places and items associated with them), and I was wondering if it was normal or if it was a mistake. For example, the people and items for The Tower and Judgement, and the meanings for The Chariot and Justice.
Good eye! I missed those fields when I was building the table through copy+pasting across several pages (you’ll notice the mistakes are in the same spots within the table). Will fix when I get home.
That was quick :O Thank you so much!
No worries. Left work early due to a terrible head cold. Let me know if you spot anything else. At this point, I'll send you a free copy of the deck and book if we hit out funding goal for the second print run.
I don't think that's necessary, your prices are really affordable, thank you for that. Best of luck regarding the funding of the second print.
I noticed a few other stuff while comparing the Table of Contents and the rest of the document.
In the "Creating Adventure" section, there's a "The Quest Begins" part that doesn't exist in the document.
In that same section, the "Random Tables" part and "Bestiary" part are switched when you compare them to the document.
I'm not used to point out small details like that, I have no idea if it should be done or not, so if that's annoying, I'm really sorry.
Thank you for your work, TarotWeaver is very very interesting. Thank you :)
Yea the ToC needs to be rearranged abit. I'm currently ironing out a currency system and a solo version of the game. Once I have those in place I'll re-configure the Table of Contents and hopefully be in a good place to start hyperlinking everything for accessibility and ease of use. :)
Hi! Is it still possible to purchase a physical copy of the game? It's great, thank you!
We plan to launch a second printing later this year. Give me a follow for updates!
Thank you! I'll keep an ear out :D
What an amazing game. Great rules and love the arts.
Thank you! I greatly appreciate that!
