This was hella funny :DD
I don't know if it was intentional, but at the end of a failed persuation everything broke and every click was a "slap" and all the dialogs were popping rapid-fire it was hilarious :DDD
funniest game ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I drunk coffee all the times I could, "Mom is angry" got me so hard 🤣🤣🤣 Loved it!
It's always nice to get some narrative in a game, although I'm not sure about this as a standalone. There just isn't a lot to it, and perhaps more importantly, while there is some feedback, perhaps because there really isn't a strong right or wrong component, the choices feel a bit emptier than I'd like. The absurdity doesn't help in that regard.
I like that you put in a little actual action minigame in there to give it a bit more of a push, again while it has some small effect on the dialog (which I appreciate) while I could be wrong, I get the impression that there is exactly one decision that does anything as far as the ending of the game goes, which would mean all the rest of this stuff really doesn't matter... The original Mass Effect had the same issue though, where it seemed only the last choice really mattered.
Well... Each option effect each person stats (mom, giraffe, nuy). After calculation, it will select the next dialogue based on who has the highest stats, then proceed the next conversation. If there are character with same stats, it will resolve it like this
mom==nuy =>mom wins
nuy==giraffe=> nuy wins
giraffe==mom=> giraffe wins
like rock paper scissors....
if all the character has the same stat, then mom wins! because mom is always right.
The thing is, because the option given mostly (not all) decrease mom stat, the only way to get mom ending is to balance all stat (mom==nuy==giraffe) ON THE ENDING of the game. Which is pretty hard to obtain.
as for the question as to why you feel all the options are meaningless, it's because i had restricted time when i create the dialogues, so some option and dialogues are reused multiple times, creating a feel like there are no effect on the dialogue.
Best solution is to actually show all character stats, so people can see what option effect what character.
Nice one! Yeah this shows up a lot, what do they call it... Invisible complexity? Something like that... And the other issue is another problem with the same result of having your work not translate into gameplay - basically having doors that are too narrow to pass through. I did a fair number of tries aiming for a mom ending, and didn't feel like I was getting anywhere.
You're totally right, showing the stats (and some sort of current ending tracker maybe?) would help quite a lot. Then you would have clear things to aim for.
Kind of reminds me of the way many FPS/3rd person shooters threw away a lot of enemy simulation code in favor of just teleporting enemies into preset interesting positions when you opened a door that made them look smart, and created interesting situations.
With that info, maybe I can get the mom ending some day XD.
That one is really funny and creative! The art is really cool, too. I feel like I've been in similar situations before yet nothing was expected, and some of the situations gave me a good chuckle. Good job!
Just like real life :( Nobody accepts my giraffe girlfriend...
This game was really fun. You really put a lot of effort in it. Great work!
When the situation gets tough, the game seems to start to fall apart, unable to withstand the tension.
Mmmmmm, coffee
"Why are you dating a giraffe?!"

"No, this isn't the time!"

"You know what, do whatever you want!"

I like the artstyle, and this was well presented. Definitely an eye-catching title too.
I think a little bit of proofreading would have gone a long way, though. The english was kind of clumsy.
Uhhh i really liked this one. Its something different with great music and funny elements
Good job! :)
I can't believe that i stuck playing ?visual novel? cuz it's funny, great job
This is by far a GEM of a game. It was engaging, funny, unexpected and the pacing was wonderful! You have a talent!
