Whoa! Great work! It feels like a fully polished game: the wave system, the UI, the effects, the vending machines, everything... I was pleasantly surprised when I could swim and jump across the pond.

nice job!

Thank you!

Dude! You got to teach me how you made your web build look so smooth! Mine is like a powerpoint presentation XD

Developer(+1)

I just preload EVERYTHING (just a scene with everything in it that loads before the main scene) haha. Particle emitters I found were the real culprit, the first time a particle is emitted it causes like a 2 second freeze... That's for EVERY particle system. I put them in my preload scene with autofire enabled and that did the trick.

Haha! I did the same (the loading scene is actually hiding all the instantiation of the the shaders/vfx etc..). but I still have some stutters. I'm starting to guess it might be the bullets and/or some parts of the AI...

Browser version took a while and didn't load for me. Downloadable (win) took a while to load as well but once I got playing things were super smooth! Really liked the AR and the snipers. The gooses don't have great intelligence, they sorta bum-rush you which is fine for a jam game! I also turned down the difficulty to about half on the slider so I don't know if that impacted the enemy behaviors. Future updates some more intelligent enemies would be cool.

Congratulations on your submission, keep on building :)

Developer

Happy you liked the game and thanks for playing! Yeah the preload takes A WHILE in web for me too but it really was necessary as the alternative was constant stuttering for the first minute or so of gameplay. Yep, AI is definitely the main thing that needs work.

Oh one quick additional comment is when you snipe the geese their buddies all just stand around like nothing happened. Very easy low-risk solution to kill all the geese from afar without ever putting yourself in danger, and they don't do anything to protect themselves from elimination at-range.

Loved it! This was surprisingly addicting, even though there wasn't a win state. The vending machines were a great addition. The variety in weapons was nice, although the hunting rifle seemed rather overpowered.

Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! haha yeah once you get enough dmg+ and the rifle starts one-shotting enemies it gets a bit busted

Honestly, this game was great! I believe the only issues I have are easily fixed by downloading the game, which I cannot be bothered to do because I am very lazy (sorry!).

I love the aesthetic, I am an absolute sucker for anything retro! The quacking feature alone hands-down makes this the best submission, prove me wrong :D

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it, I had fun making it!

Nice game! I like to see 3D games in Godot. I would like to learn doing it.

Game have nice feeling, movement and shooting have some juice. Idea of vendor machine is cool, combining it with bread mechanic make sense. Just like to move and shoot, great job!

What i missing is some music to make game more enjoyable.
Fight mechanic need some rework, maybe some small delay for so player can hide behind tree to keep health. I think there is some nice trick that you ensure that first bullet never hit the player so you keep that feeling of enemy reaction but you give player that extra time to find some coverage.

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! And thanks for  the feedback!

Nice work! I loved rushing to all the boost vending machines to get super over powered.

I recommend adding a leaderboard or way to track your score.

Weapons felt balanced (except the shotgun was pretty bad), would love to see more variety there too!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, the boosts get kinda crazy after a bit xD

This was really well done, and I had fun playing it. The hitscan shooting feels good, and I like the atmosphere you've created. The choice to include an overlay showing where geese are was a good one, otherwise finding them would have been pretty difficult.

Developer (1 edit)

I'm happy you enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this one. Had a good time. I think I went to wave 14 until I just rambo'd in and got myself killed. I had some stuttering but it was only when the geese were loading in, so that didnt really impact the gameplay for me. Obviously there could be more variety and enemy types/ai and all that in the future, but I cant believe you got a 3d shooter done in the time. My only real balance critique is the rifle. Once I picked one up off a dead goose I just killed them all from outside their aggro range. Boosts were fun. I weirdly didnt realize I could go in the water in the middle until I got a swim speed bonus, then that became my go-to when i was in between waves and wanted to make sure i was close to wherever they were going to come from.

Developer

Happy that you liked it! Yep, the aggro range issue is the biggest problem with the game by far, after you get a long range weapon you can just cheese every fight after that. Was hoping I would have enough time to either rewrite the AI or change up the map layout (to block off sight lines) but ended up spending like 4 days just fixing issues with the web build (it was BUSTED!)

The counter strike is strong in this one! XD
