This thesis focuses on the problem of detecting text in natural
scenes. It contains a summary of the main text detection
methods. Based on the previous research it chooses the
algorithm that is used in recognition of racing bib numbers.
Recognition of racing numbers is integrated to the web
application which automatically tags runners in the photos.
