DESCRIPTION FOR THE MMXXV VINYL REISSUE:

Ethereal lofi darkwave recorded in 1994 by Matthew Davis of Secret Stariways, releasing on vinyl.

Before Secret Stairways there was Tears ov Blood. A dark atmospheric music project started in the early 90s by a solitary artist in Massachusetts, working in different underground music spheres under a strict DIY ethos. Something he kept at in various forms and guises until he passed away in 2011. While mostly venerated on the contemporary dungeon synth scene for his Secret Stairways project from the mid-to-late 90s, the mysterious melancholy atmospheres are also easily recognisable on the earlier 'Infinite Winter' album as well, which was circulated briefly as a demo tape back in the day.

It was released officially for the first time by Gondolin in 2022 as a tape edition made in collaboration with Matthew's sister, who is maintaining his archive and artistic legacy with much dedication. This vinyl reissue features the same content: A hidden possibly partial track from the Infinite Winter demo tape. Two bonus tracks attributed to the Tears ov Blood project in Matthew's notes. Artwork with an artist portrait from the period and a scan of the demo tape liner notes.

ORG. DESCRIPTION FOR THE MMXXII TAPE:

Ethereal lofi darkwave recorded in 1994 by Matthew Davis whose artistic legacy is still gradually being uncovered. His output spans several music genres and artforms, and can be traced back to around 1989 as a teenager in local bands and continuing until he passed away in 2011. He was located in Massachusetts.

Today he is venerated in the dungeon synth scene because of his Secret Stairways project, which was active in the mid/late 90s. The mysterious melancholy atmospheres of Secret Stairways are also easily recognisable on the earlier 'Infinite Winter' album, which was circulated briefly as a demo tape by the artist.

This tape edition is the first official release of the material, and includes a hidden possibly partial track from the Infinite Winter demo tape as well as two bonus tracks attributed to the Tears ov Blood project by the artist. The music has been subjected to a discrete remaster for this release, and the tape artwork includes a scan of the demo tape liner notes.
