Attestation Quorum Expansion to All Bakers

Motivation

The long-term objective is that every baker should attest every block without losing any performance or putting the reduction of block time at risk.

This quarter's objective will focus on reducing the attestations' footprint in blocks, lowering storage and network consumption.

Plan

• Delegates can sign consensus operation with BLS digital signature (BLS) cryptographic scheme (Tz4 address)
• Baker can aggregate BLS consensus operations to reduce block footprint and network bandwidth consumption using newly introduced operation
• All bakers attest every block using staking power instead of current voting power (under feature flag)
