SVG2 Text does not copy properly - within document or to a new one

1. make a new text-field and type text; copy this text-field (as an object) to a new file and it snatches to the top-left side of the paper-area in the new file; no way to get it away from there by dragging or cut/paste. Only workaround is to copy the text from the one field and paste that as text into a newly created text-field in the other file. (This breaks copying groups of objects -with a textfield among them- between one file and another)

2. try copy/paste above textfield in the same (first) file; it does not appear as expected and actions on it (drag handles for examples) has an effect on original textbox

PS this is with inkscape-1.0beta2, on Slackware linux (current, 64-bit)
