Smooth node handles lost when object deselected

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• open attached file
• activate node tool, enable "show handles" option
• select all or some sharp nodes of the object
• click on "make selected nodes smooth"
• selected nodes are now smooth and have handles
• deselect object by clicking in an empty zone of canvas
• reselect object

What happened?

handles are gone, nodes behaves as sharp nodes but displayed as smooth ones

What should have happened?

handles should not be lost, and nodes behaving as smooth ones
