Document properties dialog not working after creating file from template

Steps to reproduce:

open Inkscape
choose "New from template" (Ctrl + Alt + N)
choose "default pt"
open document properties
attempt to change width/height and note nothing happens

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

Operating System: Windows 10
