Clarify difference between gitlab_rails['uploads_directory'] and gitlab_rails['shared_path']

What is the difference between these two settings in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/omnibus-gitlab/blob/master/files/gitlab-config-template/gitlab.rb.template? Both appear to handle where uploads are stored.
