Missing commit after Direct Import

Hello,

I am currently in charge of migrating all our teams from an old GitLab CE to our new GitLab Ultimate. When preparing the migration, we first do a direct test import of a group to identify future problems, then we delete the imported group via administration - 0 delay. A few days later, we launch the final direct import of the group.

Problem:

  • Test group import: 01/08/2025
  • Group deletion via Admin - 0 delay
  • Group import: 01/16/2025
  • Randomly, only one of the imported projects lost the commits between 01/08 and 01/16.
  • The other projects were imported correctly with all commits
  • Group deletion via Admin - 0 delay
  • Relaunch of the import: All commits are present

This forces us to check all projects that received commits between the two direct imports, branch by branch.

I did this 3 times and each time I got one project with this problem of missing commit.
