"Something went wrong" banner on merge requests after being offline

Whenever I step away from my machine, maybe move to a new network, every open tab with a merge request shows this message near the top:

This message can be dismissed directly, or by reloading the page, but it's a little bit annoying... It never clears on its own.

Doesn't seem to be affecting any of the functionality on the merge request page.
