Gitlab does not recognize .apng extension as image

Everyone can contribute. Help move this issue forward while earning points, leveling up and collecting rewards.

Gitlab does not recognize .apng extension as image, when generating html from markdown files. For example:

this is meant to be shown, but it doesnt

the same file renamed as .png works fine though: the same file renamed as .png works fine though
