Configure epic display preferences
Release notes
You now have full control over which metadata appears in your work item list view, making it easier to focus on the information that matters most to you. Previously, all metadata fields were always visible, which could make scanning through work items overwhelming, but now you can customize your view by toggling specific fields like assignees, labels, dates, and milestones on or off through a new display options menu.
Summary
There is currently no way to limit what meta-data shows on List view based on various user needs and scenarios. This can make it difficult for users to parse/scan for the information they care most about.
Proposal
Introduce a display options
menu which offers the ability to show/hide the various meta-data options we provide today.
Consideration: It may be beneficial to preface this work with #501677 (closed), where we consolidate some of our similar attributes to use a shared structure, potentially making this work much more efficient.
TBD: We need to determine how these display settings should be preserved. Currently, things like Sort order are preserved product-wide (groups/projects/your work) for things like Issue lists. This may not be the right approach and we should consider changing this and aligning the decision for how these new display settings are handled (#501712 (closed)).
Meta-data that should be included in this effort:
-
Assignee -
Blocked/blocking -
Dates -
Health -
Labels -
Milestone (Issues list only) -
Popularity -
Weight (Issues list only)
Meta-data that will also be a display option, but handled in a follow-up (not yet available on work item list)
-
Comments -
Iteration (Issues list only)
