Syntax highlighting theme gets lost as soon as one starts editing

Whatever I set my syntax highlighting theme to (even if I leave it at the default one), as soon as I edit a file (either by clicking "Edit" or in the "Web IDE"), the theme gets lost and the code is highlighted entirely differently (white background, lots of blue, not very consistent).

For instance, I choose the default theme, and my code looks like this:
