Search by relevant and recently updated

Problem to solve

When searching for code, I want to see relevant results, but I also want to know what has been recently updated. If I'm searching for a term to do with a specific library, recent results will relate to more recent versions which are probably what I'm using and probably reflect the latest code style/practices.

What I can't seem to do on @gitlab that I do regularly on @github - when searching for interesting code or applications, I first search by the default "Relevant" followed by "Recently updated." This gives me 2 excellent views (and there are more) to weigh my options.

Proposal

  • search results should be ranked by relevance by default
  • add option to also rank by recently updated
