reStructuredText math equations not rendered

Dear developers

Would it be possible to enable math rendering in reStructuredText?.

I know that docutils (listed as one of the dependencies of GitLab Markup) can handle math equations by using MathJax, so this makes me wonder why is it currently not possible to render equations.

This would be a very nice feature to have, since one could use equations in the READMEs for projects dealing with a lot of math.
