Group-level project templates do not import all project settings. This work has been promoted to an Epic and split into 3 issues.

Setting which are targeted in this issue are:

• General
  • Merge requests
    • Only allow merge requests to be merged if pipeline succeeds
  • require squash on merge requests
• Repository
  • Push rules
    • Committer restriction
    • Check whether author is a GitLab user
