Annotation hangs after downloading data

Annotation window hangs after pressing "Apply". From the console (separate console window, not built-in console) I can see that data is successfully downloaded, but after that is always mention of

Annotation window gets the "Not responding" suffix and Siril windows are non-responsive.

Reproduction

Trying to annotate with any catalogue causes the issue.
