Upload high-quality source

Demucs separates cleaner audio better. A 320 kbps MP3 or a WAV beats a YouTube-ripped 128 kbps file every time.

Stereo mix works best

Vocals are typically center-panned. If the song is a mono mix or live recording with vocals baked in the room, separation will leak more than usual.

Generate mode: pick the key

When using lyrics-to-instrumental mode, pin the key to your vocal range. Men usually comfortable C-G; women often F-C an octave higher. If unsure, leave it on AI chooses.

Shift pitch afterwards

If the key is wrong, run the output through /music/pitch-changer/ to transpose ±12 semitones. Great for moving a song out of your fight range.

We run Demucs (Meta AI Research, MIT license) on your upload. It separates the track into four stems — vocals, drums, bass, and other. We keep drums + bass + other, mix them back, and discard the vocals. You get a clean karaoke instrumental.

MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, and most common audio formats. Max file size is 50 MB (roughly a 5-minute 128 kbps MP3 or a 3-minute 320 kbps track).

Very good on well-produced songs (clean stereo mix, isolated vocal in the center). Acceptable on dense mixes (dubstep, thrash metal). Poor on live / bootleg / lo-fi recordings where the vocal is baked into the room sound.

Personal karaoke use is generally fine under fair use in most jurisdictions. Publishing the resulting karaoke track, selling it, or distributing it commercially is NOT OK without a mechanical license. You are responsible for how you use the output.

About 3,000 tokens per song (Demucs is compute-intensive on long audio). A 3-minute song costs the same as a 5-minute song — it is per-request, not per-second.

Type lyrics as singing guidance, pick a genre, and ACE-Step writes the backing instrumental without a vocal. Cost is the standard ACE-Step rate (~5,000 tokens for 30s). Great for singer-songwriter demos where you want a clean bed.

Not directly in AI Karaoke Maker — upload the output to /music/pitch-changer/ to transpose ±12 semitones. That lets you drop a male-range song into female range or vice versa.

Demucs is near-perfect but not perfect. Hard-panned vocals or heavy reverb tails sometimes leak. For a cleaner result, also run the output through a tool like /music/noise-remover/ or bounce it through /music/mastering/.
