A downloadable Keepsake

"Welcome to our small town! We are so delighted you are here. Please treat this space as you would your own home town, spend time among its residents, and enjoy its sights. We ask only one thing of visitors: that they send a message to a loved one to tell them about how they spent their days here..."

A Sending is a keepsake game  in which you write a postcard about your trip to an imaginary town.  The term keepsake game was a term coined by  Shing Yin Khor who defines them as "games that produce beautiful, memorable physical artifacts through the gameplay process".

A Sending  is also specifically a procedural keepsake game, an idea proposed by Florence Smith Nicholls to refer to keepsake games that use some form of procedural content generation. With A Sending, you will use watabou's Medieval Fantasy City Generator as inspiration for your fictional destination.

A Sending was designed at Dagstuhl Seminar 25292, as part of the working group Procedural Keepsake Games. It features contributions from Florence Smith Nicholls, Mike Cook, June Bhartia and Dipika Rajesh. You can find more things made at this seminar here.
