CAP Instructor Inquiry Form
Thank you for your interest in becoming a CalArts Community Arts Partnership instructor!

We are always looking to grow our network of professional teaching artists who are dedicated to providing culturally responsive arts education to students in grades TK–12. Whether you're a seasoned educator or just beginning your journey as a teaching artist, if you are passionate about teaching, share our mission, and are committed to social justice, we welcome you to be part of the CAP team. As we review inquiries throughout the year, we get in touch when opportunities match an applicant’s experience and areas of expertise.

We are looking for lead and assistant instructors

CAP Lead Instructors (CLIs) are experienced educators who foster supportive, inclusive learning environments that respect and celebrate students' diverse identities, cultures, and beliefs. They develop art lesson plans in one or more disciplines, aligning them with the California Arts Standards, and promote creative expression, critical thinking, perseverance, and self-reflection. CLIs lead instruction in both school-based and community-based programs, which may occur during the school day, after school, or in the summer. Compensation: CLI rates are $45.00/hr

CAP Assistant Instructors (CAIs) are emerging teaching artists with some experience working with youth and a desire to grow in the field. In the classroom, CAIs are expected to support the CLIs lesson plans and contribute to effective classroom management. Compensation: CAI rates are $25.00/hr
