He also learned some German and Greek, worked in theater, and worked in radio as a dialect specialist. He went to Hollywood to do radio work and played small roles in films, in addition to many television works. He mostly played small parts in films as well as comedic roles. His first work was The Jade Box (1930), and his last work was The Domino Principle (1977). He died in North Hollywood, California, USA on September 2, 1982 of lung cancer.
