Elena was born in a small village in Romania, to a poor family, and left school after her primary education, then joined the Romanian...Read more Communist Party, and met her husband Nicolae Ceaușescu in 1939 and married him in 1946, so Elena was considered (Mother of the Nation). Elena served as the head of the National Council for Science and Technology, and in 1989 anti-government demonstrations led to the collapse of the Ceaușescu regime, and Nicolae and Elena were put on trial. She was executed on December 25, 1989.
