Equal Justice USA first took on the racist criminal justice system more than 30 years ago. What began as groundbreaking work ending state death penalty statutes became a vision for a new justice system that healed rather than harmed.

We partnered with communities affected by violence to build safety based on their needs. While our work ends in 2025, we carry this vision into the world and we urge you to do the same.
