As a psychologist in Los Angeles, Dr. Moshfegh completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She earned her doctoral and master’s degrees in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. She later served as a clinical supervisor and instructor at UCLA’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she conducted research, taught courses, and mentored doctoral trainees. She also played a key role in launching the first physician wellness center at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, earning recognition as the "doctor’s doctor" within the Los Angeles medical community. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University, teaching graduate courses on sociocultural influences on behavior.
Throughout her career, Dr. Moshfegh has provided therapy and coaching to thousands of individuals, including leaders from Fortune 500 companies and top healthcare institutions. She has led research on burnout, physician well-being, sleep, and sociocultural determinants of health. As a Los Angeles psychologist, she frequently engages with the media, offering expert insights on mental health, sleep, and well-being through news outlets, podcasts, and magazines.
