No one here can fix anything. This is a user to user only forum. If your phone is overheating and lagging, have you checked your Battery Health? Both issues you've described are symptomatic of a battery which may be failing, not necessarily an issue with iOS 26. Open Settings > Battery > Battery Health - if your battery health is close to or below 80%, the battery in your iPhone needs to be replaced, which will solve heating and lagging issues.

Just figured it out. I’ve never touched the mute control on the side of the phone. It is covered by my phone case. I flipped the switch on then off. Wallah. No more red bell. Notifications are now working.

Cannot get my phone off DND!
Please describe the steps you're taking to try to turn it off.
Many people find the easiest way is to say, "Siri, turn off do not disturb."
You can also use Control Center. Tap on the icon next to the words "Do Not Disturb." Do not tap on the words as it will just complicate things. It should change from "Do Not Disturb" to "Focus." That means it's off.
Also action button to force phone into vibrate mode isn’t working. You press the button and you see on the screen it being recognized but doesn’t do its function.
Do you have the Action Button set to Silent Mode in Settings>Action Button?
Note that "Silent Mode" doesn't silence everything. It turns off all the system notifications. It doesn't silence music or the alarm.
iPhone 15
IOS 26.0
Steps to recreate
Control Centr -> Cellural Data -> Tap on Cellural data.
Expected behaviour:
Cellural Data select window opens with Liquid glass Background, similar to Bluetooth select window
Actual behaviour
Select window opens in old IOS 18 style with gray background

The ios 26 update has removed functionality of the Apple Phone, Messages, Email, and Calendar applications. This is a huge problem. I cannot make any phone calls even if an emergency were to happen….
you have an extreme problem not seen by many out of the two billion users.
The problems could be SIM related - is your cellular working properly? If you have a SIM card have you taken it out and put it back?
Have you uninstalled any VPN which do not work well with iphines. Some adblockers are VPN based. All security apps must be removed.
Ultimately you maybneed to
Back up the phone
Erase all content & settings
Set up the phone again, restoring the backup.
There is some risk so ensure you learn how to perform this.

From a PWA launched via Add to Home Screen, video plays on first launch but fails after a cold relaunch. Tapping Play flips to Pause, yet playback doesn’t start.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a page with an HTML5 <video> (e.g., https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp) in Safari.
2. Add to Home Screen and launch.
3. Tap Play → video plays.
4. Force-quit the app.
5. Reopen from Home Screen.
6. Tap Play.
Expected:
Video starts playing.
Actual:
Controls show Pause, but the video is stuck (time doesn’t advance; no audio).
Environment:
- iOS 26/26.0.1; iPadOS 26
- Multiple devices (issue not device-specific)
- Launch mode: Home Screen (standalone/PWA)
ps. Very occasionally it does play, but it’s sporadic.

CarPlay is an absolute dumpster fire with iOS 26. I updated last night and today while traveling I have had at least a dozen different problems when using CarPlay. Phone calls not working, apps freezing, my car stereo shutting down inexplicably, multiple calls showing as active at the same time with no audio, control buttons failing to do anything, inability to answer incoming calls, screens locking up, inability to reboot the phone because it’s frozen…. And those are only the ones I can easily remember. You’ve basically turned my phone into a paperweight. Who quality checked this joke of a release?????? And my only reversion option is to wipe my phone back to a clean slate and start over? Steve Jobs would’ve cleaned house over there.
First of all, "we" didn't do anything to your phone. We are ALL users on this user to user only forum. No one here works for or is associated with Apple at all. And chaneling Steve Jobs is rather amusing, but wrong. Steve Jobs had plenty of problems with many devices over the years. "You're holding it wrong" comes to mind as just one example!
I have absolutely no issues with iOS 26. No issues with dropped calls. No issues with CarPlay (wireless or wired). I'm not doubting you have issues, but to assume they are universal to ALL users is simply wrong.
Do you have a VPN installed on your iPhone? VPNs have caused a LOT of issues for a LOT of users. They aren't needed. If you have a VPN, don't just turn it off. Remove it completely from your phone. That means opening Settings > General > VPN & Device Management - remove any VPN profile, then remove ANY VPN app. Then restart your iPhone.
Also, check for infotainment updates from your cars system. Some car manufacturers just didn't roll out updates to their infotainment systems, further complicating issues with CarPlay.
Also, if you do want to share your thoughts with Apple, this is how you can do that --> Product Feedback - Apple
How has iOS 26 been a disaster for years when it's been out less than a month and 26.0.1 less than 2 weeks? I mean I am also having issues with iOS 26 that I have never dealt with before for the last 17 years of iPhones but this statement doesn't make sense...
Have you sent Feedback to Apple? That really is the only effective way to let them know of your experience. This site is just for users like you and not an effective communication channel that Apple is monitoring. I suspect they are also not viewing YouTube videos or the others you referenced when they have a clear path to hear from their customers. I can find all kinds of things on YouTube and elsewhere that have no relevance at all, in fact I found out the earth is flat.
With iOS 26.1 currently in beta and being tested, we cannot comment on the issues that have been resolved in that release as it is a violation of the terms of use for being a tester. The release date has not been announced.
In addition, you can contact Apple directly here where they can do remote diagnostics. If a Support Ticket gets opened, you may hear from an Engineer to request logs from your phone. That is how they would determine if it is a specific car manufacturer where problems occurs and explains why everyone is not experiencing the same problems.

Versions 26 and 26.0.1 have been a complete disaster for years.
Even reinstalling iOS to a clean version using DUF didn't fix the bugs I'm struggling with:
1. True Tone doesn't work.
2. The camera sometimes won't launch, only a black screen.
3. GSM network quality has dropped.
4. Wi-Fi also fluctuates, sometimes failing to load pages even with full coverage.
5. Much lower data transfers on LTE and 5G.
6. In several apps, the on-screen keyboard, instead of disappearing after typing, disappears, leaving a background that covers the entire screen.
7. Safari, browsing images in search engines looks like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-cPoC0Zc5M
or opens an image in half the screen, acting like two screens.
I'm furious, especially since Apple blocked the rollback to iOS 18.
If it was a problem with iOS 26, which millions of people have, you would see thousands of posts about it. Based on the fact we haven’t see that, it is a problem with your phone, not with iOS 26. And even if you could go back it probably wouldn’t fix it. So you need to continue troubleshooting or contact Apple support directly (this is not Apple support, it is a user to user forum).
An error occurs with the keyboard when selecting the mini keyboard on the right or left in Swedish language mode. It is not possible to switch to numbers; I have to change the language in order to be able to switch to numbers and symbols like -, :, ), (.

Point taken that you don’t represent Apple. Since posting I’ve found dozens and dozens of postings elsewhere and YouTube videos of people experiencing problems with CarPlay and this iOS update. I’m glad you’re not experiencing these bugs but clearly I’m not the only one raising concerns about them. The fact that so many are posting videos about these problems speaks for itself.
I honestly do get that some people are having issues with CarPlay. But social media is not indicative that a majority of users have such an issue. This thread, while it may seem large isn't all that large given it was started nearly a month ago. If the majority of users had CarPlay issues, this forum, the most widely visited forum in the world for all things Apple would literally be blown up with people complaining. That doesn't minimize the fact for some people CarPlay is problematic. One can imagine there are likely way more people out driving around with CarPlay who are blissfully unaware anyone is having issues with CarPlay. People don't generally go to a forum to say "hey, everything's going great."
For some, just having a VPN on their phone, even if not used, can cause connectivity issues. For others, an outdated infotainment system could be an issue. Think about how many car brands there are, how many different models of cars and the differences model years can make with the infotainment systems in all of those cars can complicate things.
I don't work for Apple and I have no clue what Apple is working on either. Apple has a notorious track record of not publicly discussing issues they're trying to solve. But Apple wants their users to have a good user experience, so the more people who use the feedback link which has been posted multiple times throughout this thread, will go a long way to keep the issue in front of Apple.
