Walmart carries a refurbished iPad 7th generation is it ok to purchase

I am a recovering stomach cancer patient who has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I sell my crafts to help pay for my expenses and to purchase another car. (My head gasket broke and warped the head). My question is I need an iPad for various transactions at craft fairs. After surgery I have a big Christmas fair on Nov 22. Walmart is offering a 7th generation, wifi, 32 gb refurbished iPad for $95. I'm a little afraid to purchase it.

Can anyone tell me if it will work ok to send receipts to my little thermal printer and show customers what I can make. I have a 2012 laptop but many of the keys are missing.

Would someone help me out and advise me if this is a viable option.

iPad (7th generation)

NO! Run away!!!

— First, true certified refurbs are available only through the Apple Onine Store. You have no idea if that device has a workable battery, or if "refurbished" simply means wiped with a rag.

— Second, the iPad 7 was discontinued FIVE years ago. It cannot be updated to the latest iPadOS version. iPadOS 18.x is as high as it can run. That will prove limiting and you have NO Apple warranty coverage. Financial/ sales software is often the first to demand a supported OS version.

— Third, based on many reports here, Walmart does not have a stellar record with selling Apple devices, new or otherwise.

Apple-refurbed iPads are here:

Refurbished iPad - iPad - Apple

The ones showing today are overkill for what you need but check that page often. Items change hourly and are "stock-on-hand." This link:

tells what you get.

Additional to comments offered by Allan Jones’s, unless your thermal printer supports AirPrint - or has a dedicated manufacturer-supplied App for iPad that supports direct printing to your printer - the iPad will not be able to send print jobs to your thermal printer.

Similarly, iPad does not support wired (USB) connections to printers.
