The theme this week from Persimon Dreams is Scads of Plaid. As I never throw away old fabrics, I had lots of old shirts to cut from. This was a great opportunity to use some of it.
First I cut squares to make two ninepatch blocks. Then put on borders around and quilted the piece. I've made many drawstring bags before, so this went fast. I will be without a sewing machine the next days, so I'm happy to finish this in time.
As every year this first challenge for Project Quilting is my first finish of the year. You can find the challenges at Persimon Dreams. Every other Sunday the first months of the year we are challenged to make a new quilt in one week. I love this, as I get some finished items at the start of the year.
This week the challenge was "A clean slate", or actually the Pantone Color of the Year, white or Cloud Dancer. I tried to keep my quilt as white as I could, and on top of that it's snowing so everything is white here just now. It's all hand quilted. As you can see I made a little needle book out of it.
Part 7 of Bonnie Hunter Mystery was new blocks. She called them Kitty Ears, and I can understand that. They were fun and easy to make. Here I've also tried to compose a block. I'm waiting for the reveal soon.

Lupine & Laughter
I can't resist taking part in Bonnie Hunter's Mysteries. This year we've come to part 6, and already have made lots of bigger blocks. I think we have at least two more clues to go before the release, but one never know with Bonnie. HERE you can see my posts about this project.

Micro mini
Every year in May I've made some miniquilts for Leslie's challenge. Hopefully she will host this party in 2026 too. Here is one from last year. So fun to use selvages.
Scrappy meets thrift
This year I've made small economy blocks for a challenge from Taryn. I plan to finish this quilt before the summer. Here you can see hundred blocks, but I've made 250 of them. And HERE you can see my posts about this project.
EQA-challenge
European Quilt Assisiation hosts a challenge for European quilters every year. I made this quilt for the exhibition in September, with the theme Contrasts. The inspiration to make this I got from Martin in Bergen, with his wonderful photo from Fjellveien. Next year the theme is Insects. That's perfect for a butterfly lover. The exhibition will be in Alsace in September.
Slow stitching
As I love slow stitching, I plan to make some more art journals. This one I made for a friend for Christmas. HERE you can see a video of the project.

Book cover
In March I showed you a book cover I made as an exercise for my quilt exams. I was, and still am, fascinated by van Gogh's art. Read more about this book cover and see the back- and inside HERE.
House quilt
For Norwegian Quilt Association's yearly meeting in March I always make a new quilt for the member's exhibition. My younger grandson loved this quilt so much that I gave it to him. We played for hours with it, and found who was living in every house. Read more about it HERE.
Meditation roll
In July I made my first meditation roll, or meditation scroll, and after that I've made several rolls for myself and as presents for friends. Here are three, and HERE you can see my first one. You can also watch a video of it HERE.
So fun to make some blocks for clue 5 out of all the small pieces. Bonnie Hunter Mystery is so fun. And as I write here clue 6 is out, with more joining of already sewn pieces. Tomorrow I will start sewing.
The worst blocks I could have, but it's part 4 of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery, so I have to make them. After some trouble, I will say they are coming along quite well. But certainly I had to do the mistake Bonnie told us not to do. Anyone else? The little mouse is watching.
This last month I've made several needle books from scraps. All of them are hand quilted. Here you can see some of them.

Clue three for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery is HSTs. The HSTs are different sizes and different colour combos. After some wrong cutting I found the right combos and made a bunch this week. I love chain piecing the blocks after all is cut. This is how long I came this week.
