In 1903, six Italian counterfeiters were arrested by government agents, including William Flynn. When the police entered the apartment, Salvatore Bufalo, his wife, and the other counterfeiters opened fire on the agents. Mrs. Bufalo threw the hot iron used to mold the counterfeit coins at an agent. However, they were all eventually apprehended. Born 1850 in Bagheria, Palermo Province. Entered the US around 1895-6, and lived on Chrystie Street in "Little Italy". A suspect in the 1902 murder of Giuseppe Catania in Brooklyn. Arrested with Morello, Lupo, ect. in 1903 for the Madonia murder. He gained his citizenship that same year. Later moved to Brooklyn, where he died in 1934.

Nicola Testa was an 18-year-old when he was arrested in the Barrel Murder case in 1903. At that time, he was living at 50 Main Street, which was the address of the Bagheresi boss Salvatore Bufalo. Testa was also the nephew of Joe Catania, whose real name was Caruso. He had changed his name upon entering the United States after being involved in a trial in Sicily.
