Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar and salt dissolve. 2. let the brine cool to room temperature. 3. Place the hard-boiled eggs, sliced sausage, and onions in a large glass jar or airtight container. 4. Pour the cooled brine over the eggs, sausage, and onions, making sure everything is submerged. 5. Seal the jar or container and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
