This is it. This is it, an instant classic, and it's mighty. Makes me think strongly of that book about a man possessed by a mountain - hey, didn't the action take place in Switzerland?

Probably one of the only atmospheric black metal bands that top Burzum for me. The keyboards/synths really add to the already chilling experience.

Striking and hypnotic, listening through Geister is a rugged and immense journey. The album is brimming with ceremonial darkness from the moment it starts. The intensity of each track is bookended with ritual, and this immersive factor keeps me utterly entranced by the story being told. Geister still feels frigid and dangerous, and I end up captivated every time I listen.

I've come across this band several times, sampled their work, but never found any moment that convinced me to buy. 'Tales Of The Old Dreamer' is the gem I've been looking for. The atmosphere from 5:07 onwards is otherworldly, a type of post-black metal with depth and atmosphere that could surprise even the most experienced listener. The cover artwork fits the darkened soundscapes explored here. I don't listen to the other tracks much, because I'm always drawn back to the old dreamer's tale.
