2D6 Animal Companions
A downloadable game
This expansion (PDF Book) for 2D6 Dungeon explains the rules for animal companions, and taking one with you into the dungeon. It is compatible with 2D6 Realm, 2D6 Legendary Dungeon and all the Lairs and Halloween expansions.
You can have one animal companion in 2D6 Dungeon, one creature you have formed a powerful bond with. It will follow and fight beside you or perform tasks and remain loyal to the end.
How You Met
Your animal companion has been with you since it was a juvenile. You came across it when it was small and defenceless and took it in, cared for it and it soon saw you as its parent. As it grew, you taught the animal how to survive in the wild but it was clear that it was too domesticated to ever consider releasing it back into the wild.
The Zeegor Priests, in your village, recognised your bond with the animal and their resident Animalist encouraged you to strengthen this bond through meditation and mental exercises. Soon, what the Animalist called, an Aura Bond developed between you and the animal, strengthening your control and facilitating a deeper understanding.
Integrating a Companion
If you have already started a game and want to add an animal companion to an experienced character, go ahead and add one when you return to town. Start it off as a new animal, it just has not been ready to start adventuring with you. You do not have to use your companion in combat so it will not necessarily be threatened by starting on higher dungeon levels. In fact, companion hit points start at a base level and do not level up. Instead, you level up its abilities, some of which will slightly increase hit points.
This is an A5 format PDF with 41 pages.
