Cuts customer onboarding time from weeks to days
~30% reduction in infrastructure management costs
Automates complex, costly maintenance processes with Gemini
80% reduction in cost of developing AI features with Gemini
IT-Development switched to Google Cloud to take control of how it services clients, boosting efficiency while innovating with AI.
Whether it’s a phone call, video chat, or important work meeting, all it takes these days is a click or a tap to connect with anyone, anywhere. Behind that simple connection, however, lies a vast, complex infrastructure of cell towers, fiber lines, and data centers that must be constantly managed and maintained. For telecom operators and tower companies, that requires not only complex engineering but also coordinating thousands of teams, managing contracts, and synchronizing payments to avoid costly delays. Bringing order to this complexity is software provider IT-Development. With its ClickOnSite solution, the French company gives global telecom companies the unified visibility and control they need to manage everything from new construction to routine maintenance.

We had a very good impression of Google Cloud compared to other providers. The quality of the platform stood out, leading us to start using it with our enterprise clients in Europe. Our clients were happy with the choice — they had complete confidence in Google Cloud.

IT-Development traditionally delivered its software on their client’s own infrastructure. However, this meant the company was often at the mercy of the legacy on-premises systems still favored by many in the traditional world of telecom. Resources were fixed and availability limited, with long lead times to scale up compute capacity and storage. With clients managing their own systems, IT-Development was unable to fix problems as they arose. Simple issues, such as a server running out of disk space, often led to expensive downtime, with IT-Development still being held responsible for any interruptions to its services. The company realized that to operate effectively, it needed to take direct control of the underlying infrastructure. IT-Development decided to start offering its software as a service and began searching for a cloud provider that offered high reliability, strong security, and the global reach needed to expand internationally.
“We had a very good impression of Google Cloud compared to other providers,” explains Jérôme Perret, founder and CEO of IT-Development. “The quality of the platform stood out, leading us to start using it with our enterprise clients in Europe. Our clients were happy with the choice — they had complete confidence in Google Cloud.”
By moving its platform to Google Cloud, and building on Compute Engine, Persistent Disk and Google Kubernetes Engine, IT-Development gained a reliable, scalable platform to provide a faster, more dependable solution to clients. Managed services eliminate the infrastructure errors that used to occur on client systems, helping the company to meet its strict SLRs. Meanwhile, the fully integrated platform of Google Cloud makes it far easier to deploy a client solution. Previously, with clients' on-premises infrastructure, IT-Development had to rely on custom manual requests and approvals for every component, which took weeks, or even up to a year in some cases. Now, with the single set of APIs and tools of Google Cloud, IT-Development’s DevOps team only needs to define the client environment once using automated templates, and it can deploy the full solution anywhere. This means it can now set up an enterprise client solution in just a few hours, accelerating client onboarding from weeks to days.
Gemini is brilliant to work with. Our clients used to have to spend time manually analyzing documents and inputting data. It was expensive, cumbersome, and error-prone. With Gemini we automated the whole process, allowing them to speed up their work, reallocate staff to more productive tasks, and improve accuracy.

With Google Cloud, IT-Development has also simplified its approach to AI, accelerating innovation for new client services. Previously, IT-Development had to train its own custom AI models, which was a slow, costly process. With Gemini, IT-Development can now build and release powerful new features for about a fifth of the cost of creating those custom models. For instance, the company has developed a tool to automate a back-office process that supports generator maintenance. Previously, office staff had to review thousands of photos of in-field generator meters every day and extract the relevant data. Now, once the technician takes a photo, Gemini instantly analyzes the image, extracts the operational figures, and automatically enters the data into ClickOnSite. IT-Development is also using Gemini to automatically pull critical financial information from complex legal PDF lease agreements, further increasing efficiencies for their clients.
“Gemini is brilliant to work with,” says Julie Munoz, cross-functional AI project manager at IT-Development. “Our clients used to have to spend time manually analyzing documents and inputting data. It was expensive, cumbersome, and error-prone. With Gemini we automated the whole process, allowing them to speed up their work, reallocate staff to more productive tasks, and improve accuracy.”

With the reliability and scalability to easily win new enterprise clients, and the flexibility to onboard them quickly, IT-Development now plans to use Google Cloud to help it expand internationally. The platform’s global footprint simplifies new regional rollouts, while the fact that Google Cloud has data centers in key global regions enables IT-Development to easily comply with data sovereignty laws as it enters new markets.
With Google Cloud, IT-Development is no longer held back by the limitations of its clients’ infrastructure. Instead, it has the flexibility and independence to grow its business and build the best services for its clients. All of this is helping to bolster IT-Development’s reputation as a reliable partner in the telecom industry and beyond.
“As we pursue more enterprise clients, what matters to them is that our service is reliable, stable, fast, and secure,” explains Perret. “That’s no longer an issue — as soon as they hear we’re using Google Cloud, they’re happy. That gives us a huge amount of freedom and confidence to grow our business.”
