"What is GodotNEWS?"

Godot news is a template which connects the Godot game engine to NewsAPI, allowing for real time headlines to be incorporated in Godot games and software.

"What does the current version do?"

- Connect to the NewsAPI using Godot's HTTPRequest node and GDscript.

- Display a list of the current popular topics in world news using the NewsAPI.

-Commented and easily edited (for example, easily alter the code to search for a specific topic or specific location)

- Effective example for learning to connect to APIs using Godot 3 or 4

- Easily use as a base for an online news app, or incorporate it into your game.

"Sounds neat, how do I use it?"

--HOW TO USE--  (USE WITH GODOT 3 OR 4)

Step 1:  acquire your free API key for NewsAPI (easily found online, free to obtain)

Step 2: Download GodotNEWS.zip on this page and import it into Godot (3/4)

Step 3:  open the "Main1.gd" script in the demo scene.  Replace the "00000" placeholder key with your official NewsAPI Key.

That's it!  If you click run, you'll have a Godot program which sends HTTP requests to display a list of currently trending world news topics.  You may incorporate this template into any project you wish!
