i love yume nikki, its literally changed my life and ive met so many amazing people through it, including my S/O, we met on ynoproject :)

1. Great to see a fellow Flash user here. I've been using it to spice up my website's menus.
2. I am 100% convinced that the reason why the web developer community was rallying behind Flash's death and ignoring the impact it made on the net was because they're against tools that are accessible to beginners. It's a toxic community that romanticizes difficulty. They forget that some people don't have all the time in the world and just want to make a simple website for fun or easily show off their creativity, not as a job.

Greetings! Of course, that's one of the reasons, but it's not the only one. While it's true that web devs are elitist and hate accessible graphical editors because they want to feel like pro hackers and are enablers of the absurd and boundless complexity of the web platform, I believe that Flash was ultimately "killed" because WHATWG couldn't control it and Adobe didn't want to open it (but they'll tell you it was about security, the same excuse they use to push for the removal of XSLT). It's too bad how a tool that allowed so much creativity was managed so incompetently, but as long as we keep its spirit alive, it will never truly die.

You might be thinking of GNU Gnash or Mozilla Shumway, the latter of which was Apache licensed. There's also Lightspark, which as far as I know is still in development, but it's nowhere near as complete as Ruffle.

Hello! I'm kind of a JS hater so the webring is implemented as a very simple PHP script. I have a members.php file that's just an array of sites (each entry having an url, name, description, and icon), and prev.php and next.php that simply get the previous or next member given a member id. The code is very trivial, about 20 lines of PHP in all. If you want the source code, I can share it. Tell me what you think. Cheers!
