DISTRIBUTION Scandinavia

Nordisk Film Distribution under one roof

Nordisk Film Distribution has gathered under one roof all sales and distribution activities of its films, PlayStation games, and music. Allan Hansen has been appointed to head the new distribution unit.

With an annual turnover of over DKK 2 billion (€286m), Nordisk Film Distribution is the biggest supplier of creative content for all media platforms in the Nordic countries. The company distributes more than 17 million DVDs, music albums, and games every year, as well as around 500,000 PlayStation consoles to 7,000 retail outlets in the Nordic countries.

In the cinemas, Nordisk Film releases more than 80 Nordic and US films each year. The company also owns a catalogue of over 3,000 movie titles, which are broadcast on TV in all of Scandinavia.

“With one collective distribution business, our position in the Nordic market is strengthened, and we become simpler and more flexible to do business with,” says Hansen. “We gather all market and customer knowledge in one unit, which creates obvious synergy opportunities for the benefit of our customers – and, in turn, consumers.”

Current films distributed by Nordisk Film in Denmark include Charlotte Sachs Bostrup’s family film Karla’s Game, number four in the Top 10 with over 109,000 admissions, and Anders Morgenthaler’s Echo [+see also:
