Written by the director, the story revolves around Rose and Jean who have nothing in common. Rose is a force of nature who faces all her problems with disarming joie de vivre. She and her three children are camping out upstairs in the family hotel which no longer belongs to her, but no, they’re not poor, they’re just broke. It’s a temporary thing. Jean is a solitary and taciturn man who has buried his big heart beneath layers of modesty and resignation. But when he finds that he’s unwittingly part of this extraordinary family, he soon becomes indispensable to them. What did they expect before they met? Probably nothing. But together, everything seems possible.
Personne d’autre is produced by Camille Lorillon on behalf of Les Films du 24, in co-production with France 2 Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+/OCS and France Télévisions, the feature film also enjoys support from the SOFICA companies Cinémage, Sofitvciné and Entourage. World sales and French distribution rights belong to UGC.
