Its not every day that you wake up to the sound of gunshots in the morning. Favela life is interesting, eye opening and an experience like no other. This picture was taken from the rooftop of my little room - just one of thousands on the side of this hill. Regardless of how it may look, the sense of community is never lost in the heart of the lego like maze of alleys and tiny streets and despite what first impressions brought, I have come to grow warm to this place.
