Patches for CVE-2016-3712

CVE-2016-3712

Qemu VGA module allows guest to edit certain registers in 'vbe' and 'vga'
modes. ie. guest could set certain 'VGA' registers while in 'VBE' mode.
This leads to potential integer overflow or OOB read access issues in Qemu,
resulting in DoS by crashing the Qemu process on the host. (Moderate)

This issue was discovered and reported by Zuozhi Fzz of Alibaba Inc.

Upstream has identified in issue with one of the patches used to correct this security bug. Hopefully we can add one more fix which addresses this before the update goes out to the customers.

The upstream fix is commit id: 94ef4f337fb614f18b765a8e0e878a4c23cdedcd

In the fix, Gerd Hoffman points out that the patch titled: vga: make sure vga register setup for vbe stays intact "causes a regression. The win7 installer is unhappy because it can't freely modify vga registers any more while in vbe mode"

The fix is already committed to master. It allows the guest to update registers without disrupting vbe video modes.

I'll set need info to security for a positive ack about stopping the maintenance process on this, pending a new MR being sent.

As discussed via email, please send new submits, I'll include them in the current incidents
