[ IN DEVELOPMENT ! ]

It's my hodgepodge way to play "classic" fantasy, be it OSR-ish or D&D-ish or Pathfinder-ish. As my personal touchstones for classic fantasy are more MUD (Nodeka) or MMO (Ragnarok Online) and less old-school TTRPG, typical dungeoneering resource management is present but simplified.

The alpha release contains just barest character creation and the basic rules.

I'd like to fluff up character creation with lots of options.

The basic rules work by themselves, but my intention is to build on them with procedures for different things like exploration, fights, etc.

And lastly, readability isn't the best -- but that'll be improved as I add more stuff!

=================

Roadmap:

  • Ancestries and Callings
  • Talents (maybe)
  • Different types of magic
  • Procedures for Journeys, Exploration, Conflict, Negotiation, Building/Crafting
  • Illustrations!

Is this still in production?

Thank you for your interest!

Please see below for a more in-depth reply, but here's the short version: not working on M&M at the moment, but it's my preferred d20 ruleset. So if I do come back to d20 stuff, this is the one I'll be working on.

This has the bones of a cool Ragnarok-like game. Do you still intend on working on it? I'm guessing not, but hope springs eternal hahah.

Thanks for checking this out! Ragnarok is indeed listed as a vibes influence. :)

As of this reply, my priority is working on another game (Wayfarer) with what little time I have outside of work/family responsibilities.

That said, Metal & Magic is my preferred way to play d20-style games, even above my other releases like Ventureborn. M&M is similar enough to its many inspirations (e.g. Mork Borg, Synthetic Dream Machine/SEACAT, Songbirds) that it can be swapped in quickly, and I've used it to play some DIY fantasy stuff, so it mostly works for me? I can potentially see myself coming back to work on M&M when I'm done futzing with statless games and d6 dice pools, so never say never! (Reading your comment, then re-reading my own writing, reinvigorated some of my own interest!)

Hey, thanks for replying! I'm glad you're still in the scene, even if working on something else. And I totally get it, life gets in the way, priorities and preferences change.

Knowing there's still a chance is great to hear hahah. I'll check out Wayfarer. Wish you the best!

The art on the cover is fantastic! The inspiration and vibes have me very excited to see more.
